I have decided at the age of seventy six to buy a drum kit and will post a video when I am as proficient as Fred. Might even do a little dancing....Ade Holmeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00345461058567109373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5526704657739088406.post-15000334725748213582010-04-02T11:36:45.105+01:002010-04-02T11:36:45.105+01:00Its really amazing clip and i like the style of pl...Its really amazing clip and i like the style of playing drum. A funny and a little sarcastic hymn to the mass music industry. Words and music by FA.

It could've been written today...so true.

SabrinaUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17684818033569314245noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5526704657739088406.post-69136419430306254102009-11-12T13:56:44.837+00:002009-11-12T13:56:44.837+00:00Does anyone know how MGM got the cane to spring up...Does anyone know how MGM got the cane to spring up in Fred Astair's Putting on the Ritz (from the film Blue Skies)? In 1927, a dire performance or performer in a provincial town in Minnesota or Scotland (for example) would vanish without a trace or at most become the subject of short-lived local lore. Today it might go viral on youtube and be downloaded by the millions before a day has passed.

I would posit that someone like Astaire who was a star in his own time, has actually become something more than that with the passing years. Talent and genius, like truth, will out.Lindsey Hornerhttp://www.lindseyhorner.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5526704657739088406.post-41618795183109553982009-04-15T17:54:00.000+01:002009-04-15T17:54:00.000+01:00Great Paddy - I think you're right - thanks for th...Great Paddy - I think you're right - thanks for the info!Ronan Guilfoylehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02668316692753726447noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5526704657739088406.post-50257930072767082722009-04-15T17:07:00.000+01:002009-04-15T17:07:00.000+01:00I'm not entirely sure, but I think that Fred Astai...I'm not entirely sure, but I think that Fred Astaire scene is from a film called Easter Parade: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Easter_Parade_(1948_film)Paddyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00760722330560314112noreply@blogger.com
